California Apple Wallet Driver’s License 🪪

Californians can now ditch some wallet clutter—driver’s licenses and state IDs can be added to Apple Wallet on iPhones and Apple Watches. This is part of California's new mobile driver's license (mDL) pilot program, letting up to 1.5 million people scan their IDs and faces for extra security. But don't toss your physical ID just yet! While digital licenses are handy, they’re only approved for limited uses, like at select TSA checkpoints in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose airports. Also, certain businesses and venues might accept them as proof of identity or age. Apple promises encrypted protection—your ID’s data is safe, only accessible via Face ID or Touch ID, and your iPhone doesn’t even need to be unlocked.

Lincoln Retail Project 🏗️

After 20 years of collecting dust, Lincoln Square is finally showing signs of life—again! Originally pitched in the early 2000s, the 60,449-square-foot retail center on Lincoln Boulevard and Sterling Parkway may actually become a reality. Developer Shan Fazeli of Rayani Holdings calls it a "great project for Lincoln," but it’s had more starts and stops than a soap opera plot. While the project is waiting for city approval to subdivide the 8.43-acre site into six parcels, Fazeli is optimistic. Yet, there’s a twist—Rayani Holdings just filed for bankruptcy to avoid foreclosure. Sound familiar? The property has been passed around like a hot potato since the early 2000s, even once being tied to a developer who ended up in federal prison. Will this time be different? Stay tuned. ($)
